Ms. Divya Salim specialises in Substantive and Procedural Criminal Laws. Prior to joining the National Law Institute University, Ms. Salim worked at the School of Law, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar.
Ms. Salim holds a B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) degree (2008) from the School of Indian Legal Thought, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, with a University Rank and an LL.M. in Human Rights Law (2010) from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. She is currently reading for a doctoral degree in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
Ms. Salim is a regular invited speaker at training programs for judicial officers, prosecutors, lawyers, police officers, executive magistrates, income tax officers, officers of narcotics control bureau at various institutions such as the Central Academy of Police Training, Bhopal, Bureau of Police Research and Development, New Delhi, National Academy of Direct Taxes, Government of India, National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics, Bhopal, Ronald Carlton Vivian Piadade Noronha Academy of Administration and Management, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development, Government of Bihar and State Police Training Academies. She has contributed to the e-PG Pathshala initiative, a project of the MHRD, Government of India. Ms. Salim has teaching experience at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels. She writes on the issues in criminal law and human rights law.
Ms. Salim is the Faculty-in-charge of the Civil and Criminal Justice Cell (CCJC) at NLIU. She also contributes to the administrative life of the University in various capacities in addition to her academic responsibilities.
